Con la Fuerza de los Ancestros / With the Strength of the Ancestor

Join artist Andre Mandela Lopez for live mural painting on the East side of the United Steelworkers Building.

This mural, part of the artist’s We Are Free series, serves as a call to collective memory and transformation, focusing on community healing, Ancestral power, and joy as resistance. The artwork celebrates liberation, abundance, and the powerful connections between ancestral wisdom and contemporary movements for land, freedom, and community care.

Attendees are encouraged to also visit the We Are Free exhibition across the street at Wildseed Centre for Art & Activism.

This project was developed through Mayworks’ Labour Arts Catalyst in collaboration with the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network and the Steelworkers Toronto Area Council.
